An unintended consequence of working at one of the U of T libraries--a 23-minute walk from where I'm living at the moment--is weight loss! Just in the last two weeks I've lost three pounds, I'm eating better, and the hints of hypoglycemia that were sneaking up on me again have gone away. On a normal day I make two return trips: To there in the morning, back at dinner, to there after dinner, and then back when the library closes (or I get tired of working and start to write more blog entries). The total distance of these daily treks is about 9.5km with about 550 calories burned. Maybe this, combined with a return to running when the weather warms a bit, will help me get back down to my relatively svelte 210lbs.
